Spot Details

-Limited area to rig & Launch. Advanced/Expert launch for Kite Boarding. Drunken locals, tourists & small children are not mindful of the power of your kites, your kite lines on the beach etcetera. DO NOT ASSUME any bystander has knowledge of your activities or intentions. RESPECT OTHER PARK USERS & BOATERS even if they do not respect you. That's what the Park Rangers are for!

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER LAUNCH AREA! ***AVOID STRONG CURRENTS IN SHARK BAYOU*** HIGH RISK AREA IN SIDE OFF WINDS EASTERLY WINDS-

KITING IN EASTERLY WIND CONDITIONS AT YOUR OWN RISK!***

IF YOU ARE A BEGINER DO NOT ATTEMPT TO KITE HERE!

TAKE LESSONS first. NEVER KITEBOARD ALONE. Adviseable safety gear would be AT MINIMUM - HELMET & PFD.

DO NOT RIDE/KITE FARTHER THAN YOU CAN SAFELY SWIM IN. If you are going to kite away from shore at distance DO NOT attempt without notifing Park Personnel. If possible pending wind conditions keep clear of Swimmers in SWIMMING AREA. At times this may become unavoidable due to boat traffic or sudden changes in wind conditions.

IKO or PASA certification + Minimum Liability Insurance not required- YET!

A much more forgiving area to learn would be Holly Beach in Cameron Parish or Lake Charles,LA. ELMERS ISLAND GRAND ISLE LOUISIANA would be a BETTER CHOICE & HIGHLY FAVORABLE BEGINNER location.
